The seventh installment in the franchise is set to open on July 11, 2014. On April 4, Lin announced that he won't return to direct the seventh film. The studio has chosen James Wan to direct. The movie takes place after the events of Tokyo Drift, as revealed in Fast & Furious 6.

Fast and Furious 7 Movie goes to Japan and the Middle East!
